Michelle Mone put on a brave face in Glasgow yesterday to launch her own range of fake tan – just days after revealing that she had undergone surgery to remove a potentially deadly melanoma from her shoulder.

The Ultimo lingerie boss was snapped with a plaster on her shoulder, covering the place where surgeons had removed the cancerous growth on Saturday last week (May 19).

She now faces a wait to see if the surgery has been successful to remove the cancerous growth.

Michelle’s decision to create the product was no doubt influenced by her own health scare, with the 40-year-old Scottish businesswoman telling The Sun that she’s now terrified of the damage sunbathing and using sunbeds can do.

“It’s always scary when you hear the word ‘cancer’,” Michelle said. “I absolutely hate the sun now. I went to Dubai recently and stayed inside. I think it’s dangerous.”

Now Michelle will be strictly sticking to faking it, no doubt with her own range of self-tan, Utan, which she officially launched in Boots in Glasgow yesterday (May 22).

The range consists of products including various shades of self-tan, a gradual tanner, and a wash-off shimmer tan, which Michelle says she’s extremely proud of.

“The development and launch of UTan has been really exciting not least because it is Ultimo’s first foray into the beauty market having made our name in lingerie and fashion. I knew from the outset that I wanted the colour to be unrivalled and deliver that perfect colour that wouldn’t have any of those tell-tale fake tan smells.

“It’s taken three years of development and I’m really proud of the UTan range as there’s a tan for everyone.”
