Alexandra Burke has reportedly said she will not date another footballer following her recent split from Jermain Defoe.

The X Factor star apparently ended their relationship after Defoe was allegedly unfaithful.

Alexandra's friends have said that the singer has now decided to focus on her music career.

A source told The Sun: "Alexandra will never date another footballer.

"She was warned heavily by people close to her what she was getting into but she went with her heart.

"What has gone on is such a shame because she was prepared to give up a lot of her promotional work this year to spend time with Jermain and support his career.

"But now she's more focused on her work than ever before."

Defoe has denied reports in tabloid newspapers that he cheated on Burke with nurse Kirsty Crummey.

Burke is to release her second studio album Heartbreak on Hold on June 4.
