Kate Middleton has made no secret of the fact that she’s a huge animal lover, and yesterday the Duchess of Cambridge showed just how besotted she is with her pampered pooch Lupo, when the pair were spotted enjoying a day out at the polo.

The stylish Duchess looked relaxed and happy as she walked the young cocker spaniel around Cowarth Park in Ascot at the Audi Polo Challenge, which was raising funds for Prince Harry's charity Sentebale, helping orphans and vulnerable children in Lesotho.

The much-loved puppy - believed to be a very special 30th birthday present for Kate - became part of the royal household late at the end of last year, with the young dog joining the Duchess and her husband Prince William at their home for a trial period.

Kate and Wills are said to have fallen in love with little Lupo instantly, and decided to welcome the pooch into their house on a full time basis, in time for Kate's big day in January.

Since then they have been spotted taking the fluffy pup out for lots of long walks near their home in north Wales.

And yesterday Kate looked every inch the proud owner as she and Lupo milled around the polo match, with even Prince Harry, William’s brother, not able to resist giving Lupo a little nuzzle as he greeted the adorable puppy.

Kate looked striking as ever, dressed in a £290 Libelula teal petal print dress which she teamed up with cream wedges.

It’s just the latest social occasion the Duchess has wowed at in recent days. On Friday night she was snapped looking stunning in a full-length teal Jenny Packham gown which had lace detailing at back and on the sleeves.

And days before Kate also drew admiring glances in a full-length Roland Mouret Lombarde white cream dress split to the thigh, as she stepped out with Prince William to attend a dinner hosted by the Thirty Club at Claridges in London, one of the most prestigious dining clubs in the country.
