Fresh from wowing the crowds on The Voice last weekend, it has been announced that Scottish singer Barbara Bryceland will perform a free gig for music lovers in Erskine.

Performing at The Whuppity Scourie Bar & Restaurant in the Bridgewater Shopping Centre later this month, singer Barbara will show off the vocal skills that made Welsh warbling legend Tom Jones pick her for his team.

Viewers watched as Barbara, 47, dubbed the “glamorous granny”, belted out her version of Wild Horses during the ‘blind auditions’ in a bid to secure her place on the show.

The Scots singer was recently pitted against Leanne Mitchell in the Battles stage of the show, with the duo performing a version of Lady Gaga’s Edge of Glory.

And while Leanne might have won the battle, Barbara stole Cheryl Cole’s BFF Will.I.Am’s heart, with the Black Eyed Peas rapper telling presenter Holly Willoughby: “So, right, Barbara was singing to me right. I got a crush an’ stuff. Damn, woman, like you are hot. I was on the edge of my seat – like melting chocolate on a seat.” Praise indeed!

Now fans will get a chance to see Barbara perform in person, when she takes to the stage at the Erskine bar on Saturday, May 26, to perform as part of a free event.

Stuart MacKenzie, who co-owns The Whuppity Scourie with his son Craig, said: “We are big fans of the show and we loved Barbara when she was on – after a chance meeting we invited Barbara to perform and we are delighted to have her performing at the Whuppity on May 26. It’s going to be a great night out and we hope everyone will come along and enjoy a good knees-up.”

Barbara is performing at the bar at 9.30pm on Saturday May 26. Find out more on the venue's Facebook page.
