Kate Middleton turned heads as she arrived at Claridges last night wearing a striking white gown slashed to the thigh.

The full-length Roland Mouret Lombarde white cream dress was a rather daring option for the Duchess of Cambridge, who normally covers up her figure in more demure outfits.

But Kate was clearly feeling confident about displaying her enviable frame, in the snug-fit dress which showed off her slender figure and shapely legs.

Kate, 30, accessorised the slinky white gown with sparkly gold Jimmy Choo sandals – showing off her maroon-coloured painted toenails - and a matching gold clutch.

The Duchess wore her hair down, styled in her trademark loose curls, which she has become famous for, and accessorised the look with jewelled drop earrings.

Kate was accompanying her husband, Prince William, to a dinner hosted by the Thirty Club at Claridges in London, one of the most prestigious dining clubs in the country.

Members include some of the most powerful men and women in advertising and the media, and monthly events  allow key players in the industries to network and seal deals.

Last night Prince William was attending the event as a guest speaker, with his stunning wife on his arm for support.

A St James’s Palace spokesman told the Daily Mail: “The Duke has been invited for around nine years now and thought that it was right to accept the invitation this year because of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

“It also seemed rather apt as it his 30th birthday next month.

“Other senior members of the Royal Family also suggested that it was an interesting event to attend.”

Other big names who attended last night’s Thirty Club event included Gary Lineker and his wife Danielle Bux, who wore a low-cut light blue gown.

Businesswoman and judge on The Apprentice Karren Brady, and journalist and broadcaster Andrew Neil also attended the prestigious event.
