Beyonce, Rihanna, Gwyneth Paltrow, Scarlett Johansson and other A-list stars all dazzled on the red carpet at the annual Met Gala Benefit in New York last night.
Celebrities came out in force for the Costume Institute Gala Benefit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and every outfit seemed more daring than the last.
All eyes were on new mum Beyonce, who wore a sheer, full length Givenchy dress that left very little to the imagination, and was finished off with a massive purple feathered train.
Singer Rihanna also drew admiring glances in a black crocodile Tom Ford gown which was slashed down the back.
Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker opted to cover up in a floral Valentino gown, while actress Cate Blanchette donned an ostrich feathered Alexander McQueen dress.
Movie star Gwyneth Paltrow shunned a full-length gown in favour of a short metallic mini dress by Prada, while British actress Emily Blunt chose a salmon pink gown by Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein.
Actress Hilary Swank also turned heads in a deep red Michael Kors gown, while movie star Jessica Biel, who attended the event on the arm of fiance Justin Timberlake, looked stunning dressed in an ivory Prada dress with green detailing.
This year’s Costume Institute Gala Benefit’s theme was 'Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations’.
