This time last year, the nation was taking down the bunting and recovering from a day of celebrations for the royal wedding.

A year on, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were once again enjoying the sound of wedding bells, but this time it was the turn of Kate’s friend, Hannah Gillingham, to walk down the aisle.

Kate and William, along with Pippa Middleton, headed to Wingfield, Suffolk, on Saturday, for the marriage of  Hannah and her handsome partner, Robert Carter.

Just as she did on her wedding day, Kate looked stunning in lace, but this time it was the blue fitted Erdem dress which she wore on her official royal visit to Canada last year.

Pippa looked equally glam in a pale gold dress and matching gold fascinator, covered in butterflies.

The beautiful bride wore a long sleeved lace gown, similar to the marvellous McQueen number Kate wore on her big day.

The royal couple appeared to be having a ball as they mingled with guests and celebrated the big day, no doubt with a sigh of relief that this time around, all eyes weren’t on them!

To mark their one year anniversary together, Kate and Wills are then said to have headed home to their farmhouse in North Wales for a romantic meal.

Previous reports suggested the couple were going to travel to Balmoral, but with William set to return to work this week, it seemed they just wanted to be at home to mark the occasion in private.

Kate previously admitted she is not a great cook, but she likes to try her hand at new recipes and is thought to have been cooking up a fish dish to wow her husband.

A source told the Daily Mail: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge yesterday attended a friend’s wedding. The Royal couple are spending today privately and they are not planning to mark their wedding anniversary in any public way.”
