Zayn Malik excited to be back in UK to see girlfriend?

That Zayn Malik’s a tease isn’t he? The One Direction heartthrob has been dropping hints that he has a girlfriend, but hasn’t actually confirmed if this is the case, or, more to the point, who she is.

As the One Direction lads headed back to the UK after their hugely successful tour of the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, it seems Zayn had one thing, or one person, on his mind, as he Tweeted: “So happy to be going home missed every1 so much ! :) especially you ;) x x x x”

This message prompted fans to question who he was talking about, with one writing: “we all know you have a girlfriend! Tell us who pleeeeeease!x”

Last week Zayn set tongues wagging when he wrote: “In life we always fall for the person that will never fall for us always want something that we can't and always say things we shouldn't :s”

At the weekend, things appeared to be looking up in the love stakes as he Tweeted: “So its true , persistance pays off , x :)”

So who is the 1D heartthrob dating? He has long been linked to Little Mix star Perrie Edwards, since meeting her backstage at The X Factor last year.

Although Zayn admitted they had exchanged numbers and were “texting and talking”, the 19-year-old singer insisted they were “just good friends.” That old chestnut.

While in Australia, he reportedly asked radio receptionist Anna Crotti out on a date, but she was forced to cancel when jealous 1D fans got wind and started to send her abusive messages via Facebook.

Zayn famously dated fellow X Factor contestant Rebecca Ferguson – an older woman – but the relationship fizzled out and the 25-year old singer recently dubbed Zayn “just a phase in my life.”
