Kate Middleton and Prince William first baby is to land the prestigious title as the most influential tot in the country – despite the fact the child hasn’t been born, or knowingly conceived, as yet.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s royal baby and future heir to the throne will be globally famous before it is even born, and is set to attract the most public interest out of all children in the public eye, after coming top in a list of 20 celebrity babies, in a study conducted by personalised baby gift supplier My1stYears.com.
Royal watchers have been desperate for news that Catherine, better known as Kate, is expecting her first child, ever since her marriage to Prince William last April.
Last year, speculation was intense that Kate might be pregnant, after the stunning duchess refused to eat peanut paste during a visit UNICEF’s global Supply Centre in Copenhagen recently.
Many expectant mothers are told to avoid nuts, and it was thought this could be an indicator that the 30-year-old was expecting – but turned out to be just rumour.
Earlier this year, royal biographer Andrew Mortonalso predicted Kate would be pregnant within a matter of months of the couple's April wedding, commenting: "I’m pretty confident that, according to royal tradition, she’ll be pregnant within the next few months. Every reigning monarch for the last 200 years has had a child within a year-and-a-half; Diana was pregnant within three months."
The couple have now been married for 11 months, so they’ve already broken with tradition - and it looks like we’ll have a while longer to wait before we hear the pitter-patter of royal footsteps!
Following closely behind the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s unborn baby, titled as HRH TBC, was R&B superstar Beyonce and rapper husband Jay-Z’s first child together Blue Ivy Carter, followed by David and Victoria Beckham’s fourth child, daughter Harper Seven Beckham, who came third.
Other celebrity babies who featured in the top 10 list included Elton John and David Furnish’s adopted son Zachary Furnish-John, and Madonna and former husband Guy Ritchie’s son Rocco Ritchie.
Another royal child made the list too - James, James, Viscount Wessex, who is the son of Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, who scored tenth place.
Those noticeably absent from the list included Suri Cruise, the daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, and any of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s biological or adopted children.
A spokesperson from My1stYears.com said: “I was surprised to see that the future child of Kate and Wills won the poll as it was added it to our top 20 list purely as a wild card. However, when you think about it, being heir to the British throne will have more influence than the entire top ten put together.
“What’s more when you take into account how popular Katherine and William are at the moment, when their first child comes along he or she will be a global superstar.
“Another surprise was Bill Gates youngest daughter ranking so highly in our list. With a potential stake in her father’s $56 billion fortune, she is definitely one of the wealthiest tots in the world.”
