Scottish designer Louise Gray unveils new collection at London Fashion Week

She’s been hailed as the “one to watch” by British Vogue, and Louise Gray is most certainly one of the rising figures in the fashion scene.

Hailing from Fraserburgh in Scotland, the designer loves to use bright garments and experiment with different textures, and this was displayed in her new collection, which Louise unveiled during London Fashion Week.

Showing off some of her pieces, Louise revealed what her favourite items were. “It’s again a very varied collection, there’s a lot of pieces that translate to your wardrobe,” she said, selecting a mixture of cotton shirts, silk dresses, cotton trousers and sequins as her stand-out pieces.

Louise has caught the eye of many in the fashion industry, and explaining a bit about Louise’s appeal after watching her show at London Fashion Week, fellow designer Lee Lapthorne said:  “Louise’s collection, as we’ve seen tonight, is really colourful and mixture of a great textures, using cottons and printing over the top clashing of prints, really bright, really colourful, really good fun and that’s why she’s so successful.”

Louise might be making waves in London,  but she never forgets her Scottish roots, and also spoke about her feelings about the country’s own influence on the industry.

“I feel like there’s lots of strong things happening in Scotland, lots of great boutiques in the Merchant City in Glasgow. I haven’t been to Edinburgh for a while, but I feel like it’s really strong,” the designer explained.

Louise added: “I feel like there are really strong opportunities [in Scotland], everyone seems to be really individual in producing their own work which is really nice, you can really get a sense of who people are and it’s nice to  see that.”
