Adele has sparked fresh rumours that she’s set to quit her glittering music career for marriage, after showing off a massive sparkler on her wedding ring at last night’s BRIT Awards.
Sporting what looked like a huge yellow diamond on her ring finger, it seems that Adele might have some happy news to share.
The 23-year-old singer and her beau Simon Konecki - whoare thought to have been dating since last summer - have been spotted looking increasingly loved-up in recent months.
And the appearance of the ring comes just days after the Rolling in the Deep singer was quoted telling Vogue magazine that she was planning to take five years off her music career to focus on “love and happiness”.
She told the iconic publication: “I am f***ing off for four or five years. If I am constantly working, my relationships fail.
“So at least now I can have enough time to write a happy record. And be in love and be happy. And then I don't know what I'll do. Get married. Have some kids. Plant a nice vegetable patch.”
Adele later backtracked and wrote a statement on her official website suggesting the earlier comments had been a joke.
Referring to her busy schedule following her appearance at the Grammy Awards – where she won a mammoth six gongs – Adele wrote: “I’ve a few days off now, and then it’s the Brit Awards here at home and then I’m straight into the studio. BOYYAHH! 5 years? More like 5 days!”
Adele was also seen wearing another ring on her wedding finger at the Grammy Awards on February 12 – so it looks like the singer might just be having a bit of fun at teasing everyone about her ‘engagement’…
In addition to her six Grammy Awards, Adele won two BRITs at last night's ceremony, for British Female Solo Artist and Mastercard Album of the Year for 21.
