Kate Middleton has finally revealed the piece of information we’ve all been desperate to know for the last few months – the name of her beloved new puppy.
Speaking to children at a school in England today, the Duchess of Cambridge told excited pupils that she decided to call the black cocker spaniel Lupo.
The cute puppy is believed to have been a very special 30th birthday present for the duchess from her husband Prince William, but little Lupo is thought to have joined the couple before Christmas, to allow him time to settle in the royal household.
Kate looked like the perfect English rose today as she arrived at Rose Hill Primary School in Oxford for another solo visit, while William continues his RAF duty in the Falkland Islands.
The duchess wore a striking brown bird print coat by Irish designer Orla Kiely – whose fans include Keira Knightley and Alexa Chung – thought to have cost £163.50, down from £325. Her smoky makeup and loosely curled brunette locks finished the lake, making Kate as pretty as a picture.
The duchess was at the school to join in with an art therapy session run by The Art Room, a charity which Kate is patron of.
The Art Room works with children – many of whom are disengaged from mainstream education, disruptive or withdrawn – to help increase confidence, self-esteem and independence, as well as life skills.
Sessions include drawing and painting, and whenever a child attends a class they can cuddle one of the many soft toys in the dedicated art space.
Lisa Hancock, manager of the Rose Hill’s art room, said the pupils there had picked out a toy dog for the duchess specially, because of the new addition to her family.
She said: "The children had chosen a dog for her to cuddle during the lesson. She said 'what's it called?' and we said 'would you like to give it a name?' and she said 'I will call it after my dog'."
Kate is also visiting a second Art Room project at the Oxford Spires Academy today.
