Kate Middleton is set to continue her reign as style queen after commissioning a cutting edge milliner to design her latest hat.
Piers Atkinson has created hats for the likes of Lady Gaga and Paloma Faith; now he’s swapping princesses of pop for a real life duchess.
According to the Daily Mail, the designer-to-the-stars has been approached to create headwear for Kate to wear during the Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
While Kate is leading the way in royal fashion, we’re sure Piers will have been advised to tone down his creations ever so slightly, as his 2012 collection was called Sex on the Brain… Can’t quite see the Queen approving of that!
Kate is expected to wear her new hat when she accompanies the Queen and Prince Philip to Leicester to launch the Diamond Jubilee tour, or when she joins the Queen at upmarket emporium Fortnum & Mason.
Kate was recently crowned Hat Person of the Year, in an online poll conducted by The Headwear Association.
The duchess was praised for looking fabulously festive in a beautiful burgundy/wine coloured hat, designed by Jane Corbett, when she attended church with the Royal family at Sandringham on Christmas Day.
Clearly passionate about her headwear, she also turned heads at Zara Phillips wedding in Edinburgh last summer, when she sported a large cream hat she is said to have helped milliner Gina Foster design.
