We can feel another Twitter war about to erupt, after Cheryl Cole let rip on the social networking site, seemingly hitting back at Cher Lloyd for comments she made about performers failing to sing live. Oh dear!

Earlier in the week Cher was asked if she would consider a duet with her former X Factor mentor, responding: "Maybe if she sings live with me."

When pushed to explain the comments during the Real Radio North West's Real Breakfast Show, which host Debbie Ousbey said sounded like a challenge to Cole, Cher responded: "Well it always is nowadays, when you haven't got the nifty little button to press."

When asked if she meant auto-tune, Lloyd laughed and added: "What, oh no? Never, never ever!" Ooh, miaow!

Now Cheryl appears to have angrily responded to Cher’s comments, taking to Twitter to post a message that read: “Be Careful who you kick on your way up .. They kick you twice as hard on your way back down.. #unappreciationisugly”

Cheryl didn’t post the message directly to Cher, but it looks like the Geordie star is definitely trying to issue a warning to her former protégée about not getting too big for her boots.

Outspoken Cher has hit the headlines several time in the past for other controversial comments she’s made. In October last year, she furiously responded to Heat magazine’s questions about her relationship with Cheryl after X Factor, saying: “Seriously, why the f**k does everyone ask me about Cheryl? We aren't friends. I'm fed up of being asked about The X Factor and Cheryl.

"You can print this, right... I don't speak to Cheryl, we don't speak, we don't have anything to do with each other, so will everyone stop asking me about Cheryl?”

Cher also created a stir when she made comments about last year’s X Factor hopeful Kitty Brucknell, telling Digital Spy: "I'm very honest. If I don't like an act then I'll say. The one that sticks out for me is Kitty - I have a big thing about her.

"She's got a lot learn. I just dislike the way she acts, and she acts that way to get the attention."
