One Direction created mass excitement when they arrived in Glasgow today, ahead of their concert at the city’s SECC.
Harry Styles, Zayn Malik Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson waved to fans who had queued – some from 9am this morning – to catch a glimpse of the boys.
The group are in Scotland today and tomorrow (January 13 and 14) to perform at Glasgow’s SECC venue, as part of their Up All Night UK tour. Minutes after tickets were released for the tour in September last year tickets sold out, proving the boys’ huge popularity.
Fans had travelled far and wide to see the band in action, with one group coming down from Aberdeen for the weekend.
One member of the group said: "When they came to Aberdeen we met them everyday at their hotel and camped out a HMV to see them. They are just amazing. We would travel anywhere for them."
"We left Edinburgh at 9.30 this morning and have been standing in the queue for eight hours. But we would wait forever for them."
One Direction shot to fame after coming third on X Factor 2010. The boys - who all auditioned individually and were put into a group by the judges on the show – released their debut single What Makes You Beautiful in September 2011 which went straight to number one in the charts.
The band found out yesterday that they had been nominated for the Best Single at this year’s BRIT Awards for What Makes You Beautiful, which will be held on February 21.
Last night the group were spotted enjoying a night out in Glasgow hotspot Sugar Cube – no doubt toasting their BRIT nomination, as well as Niall’s 19th birthday.
