Justin Bieber is known for being the squeaky-clean prince of pop, but as he approaches 18, the Canadian star has given his most revealing interview yet, insisting he’s “not a kid anymore,” but not “completely grown-up either.”
Speaking to V magazine, the singer said he wants to stay true to himself and not rush into partying and drinking and the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle.
“I don't want to start singing about things like sex, drugs and swearing.
“I'm into love, and maybe I'll get more into making love when I'm older. But I want to be someone who is respected by everybody.”
Justin is still very much in love with girlfriend Selena Gomez, who he has been dating for over a year.
The teen hit the headlines recently when he revealed a large tattoo of Jesus on his leg and although it means a great deal to him, he insists he isn’t deeply religious.
“I don't think I'm religious. I am spiritual,” he told V.
So what does Justin Bieber do to chill out and take his mind off his music?
He turns to boxing, and by all accounts is pretty talented in the ring.
He said: “My dad is a fighter so he taught me some stuff growing up, and he's a great fighter, so I'm a pretty good boxer.”
And he’s not lying. According to boxer David Haye, the star has natural boxing talent.
Last year the pair got together for a training session, when Bieber was touring the UK.
Haye Tweeted: “Great workout in The Hayemaker Boxing Gym @justinbieber. You you sure can pack punch!! I'm now a Belieber! Stay Blessed!”
Justin compared his fight to be recognised at the top of his game in the music industry, to that of boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr’s constant strive to be the best in the world.
“I want to be better than anybody that's ever done it. I don't want people to think of me as just a teen sensation.”
