Kate Middleton might be bubbling up with excitement at turning 30 today, but in contrast her little sister Pippa looked gloomy as she headed to work on her sibling’s big day.
Poor events planner Pippa, 28, probably would have loved to get the day off to mark the celebration with Kate, now officially known as the Duchess of Cambridge.
But it looks like she’ll just need to make do with toasting Kate's big 3-0 with her sister another time.
Pippa, or Pip as she’s known to family and friends, was seen wearing her trademark dark sunglasses, apparently in a bid to hide her face from the waiting press, as she made her way through London today, dressed in a red striped skirt, navy top and black blazer.
The socialite has become a huge hit with the media and the public since the royal wedding in April, and is often photographed out and about in town; but it seems today she just wasn't too keen to smile for the snappers.
Details of how Kate is to mark the big birthday aren’t clear as yet; rumours had emerged that Pippa had spent the last few months planning an 80s-themed bash for her sister, alongside Prince Harry.
The dynamic duo were said to be including karaoke and 80s cocktails as part of the festivities, to celebrate the decade Kate was born in.
But a spokesperson for St James’ Palace later put a stop to the rumous that any such party was to take place, releasing a statement that read: “Whatever is planned will be low-key and private.”
Kate and Wills did indulge in a spot of glamour last night, however, as the couple walked the red carpet at the movie premiere for the First World War epic War Horse in London’s Leicester Square last night.
