Home for Christmas? George Michael might not make it back to the UK for December 25
George Michael might need to remain in hospital over Christmas to continue receiving treatment for pneumonia, it has been revealed.
The singer’s doctor Christoph Zielinski of Vienna's General Hospital has cast fresh doubt over when George will be well enough to return home after being vague about his return, Digital Spy reports.
However Dr Zielinski did say that he is positive about George’s recovery, telling ORF Radio: "We know that he is doing well. And we are generally optimistic."
The news comes just after stories appeared in the press that George would be heading home for Christmas after making a “remarkable recovery”.
The Mirror reported George was all set to be discharged within a few days and would be spending Christmas in London.
His boyfriend Fadi Fawaz also seemed to confirm the news, writing on Twitter: “Christmas at home. I cannot stop smiling today, the best day ever. He is getting better and better. Nothing to worry about, happy days.”
George was taken to hospital in November after a chest infection he was suffering from worsened, and he was diagnosed with pneumonia.
Later that month, George was forced to cancel all the remaining dates of his Symphonica tour after being advised by doctors to take “full and complete rest”.
