The Keeping up with the Kardashians star has split from her husband Kris Humphries, just 10 weeks after marrying in a sunset ceremony.

Kim Kardashian is getting divorced from husband Kris Humphries, just 72 days after they married in a romantic sunset ceremony in front of celebrity friends.

The couple got engaged in May six months after they started dating, when Kris presented Kim with a massive 20.5 carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring.

Kim, 31, and Kris, 26, married on August 20 this year, in front of 450 family and friends, with their wedding filmed for Kim’s reality show.

It was the ultimate glitzy affair, with the bride wearing no less than three gowns throughout the day to marry her basketball beau.

But it seems the fairytale wasn’t too last. According to celebrity website TMZ, socialite Kim has filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences”. The date of separation has been recorded as today, October 31.

Top divorce lawyer Laura Wasser - who has worked with clients including Arnold Schwarzenegger’s estranged wife Maria Shriver and Britney Spears – is thought to have been hired.

And Ryan Seacrest, the producer of Kim’s E! reality show, posted a message on Twitter that also confirmed the news. It read: “Yes @KimKardashian is filing for divorce this morning. I touched base with her, getting a statement in just a few mins.” No statement has as yet been issued.

Reports of problems between Kris and Kim surfaced soon after the pair wed, when they were hardly seen in public together.

Earlier this month, Kris was spotted out without his wedding ring on – usually a clear sign of trouble in celeb circles – and a source said to be close to the couple told the Daily Mail website that their relationship was all but over by then.

“I don’t know when they’ll announce the split or why they got married in the first place but they are done,” the insider said.

“They are divorcing. Kim has been staying in a New York hotel which Kris has failed to visit.”

The divorce didn't stop party girl Kim from hitting the town though; over the weekend the 31-year-old was snapped dressed up as Batman baddie Poison Ivy for a Halloween party.
