Party animal: Kate Moss and other stars partied the night away with Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell
A-listers including supermodel Kate Moss and Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood partied the night away at Sir Paul McCartney and new wife Nancy Shevell’s wedding reception last night.
In fact the party, which went on until around 3am, was so raucous that neighbours are believed to have complained about the noise, the Daily Mail reports.
Around 100 guests celebrated with Sir Paul and his new wife, US businesswoman and heir Nancy, after they married in a low-key ceremony at Marylebone Register Office on Sunday, in front of a crowd of around 30 people.
Paul’s seven-year-old daughter Beatrice, with ex-wife Heather Mills, acted as the flower girl and bridesmaid, while the Beatles legend’s brother Mike took on the role of best man.
After the wedding the guests celebrated back at the couple’s £5 million North London home, dining on a luxury feast that included salmon and truffle risotto and toasting the happy couple with £110-a-bottle organic champagne.
Other big names who joined the party included Paul’s former bandmate Ringo Starr and his Bond girl wife Barbara Bach, musician Jools Holland, and Paul’s fashion designer daughter Stella McCartney, who was with her creative consultant husband Alasdhair Willis and their five-year-old son.
Last night Paul was expected to sing one of Nancy’s favourite Beatles hit, Let It Be, at the reception in the back garden of their London home.
The song has a special meaning for the couple because it contains the lyrics “You gave me loving in the palm of my hand". Paul also first serenaded his partner with the song during one of their first holidays to Morocco three years ago, the Daily Record reports. The musician was also expected to perform a song he wrote especially for the occasion.
The couple are now thought to be travelling to the USA to celebrate the marriage with family in the States, before honeymooning in the Caribbean.
This is Paul’s third marriage. His first wife Linda passed away from cancer in 1998, and the singer and former model Heather Mills divorced in 2008.
