Glasgow glamour: Nick Grimshaw to host seventh Scottish Style Awards

Nick Grimshaw is coming to town to host the seventh annual Scottish Style Awards in association with Moët & Chandon at Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum on Saturday October 29 – rejoice fashionistas!

The handsome radio and TV presenter is one of the hottest talents around and he can’t wait to get to grips with everything that’s fabulous about Scottish Style.

And he should know a thing or two about fashion – he counts Alexa Chung and the Geldof girls amongst his closes friends.

Grimmy said: ”I’m really looking forward to hosting this year’s Scottish Style Awards in Glasgow and celebrating all that’s cool, creative and stylish. It’s going to be an exciting night!”

That it is Nick: the Scottish Style Awards salute inspirational individuals and enterprises that enrich society through their distinguished activities in fashion, music, stage, screen, the arts, retailing and hospitality.

This year’s Awards include everything from Scotland’s most stylish Male, Female and Band or Musician, to the hotly contested Fashion Designer of the Year.
Recognising our wealth of rising talent, there’s also a new category – Breakthrough Star of the Year – which will honour exceptional young talent across the creative industries.

VIP guests at the star-studded event will enjoy a Moët reception and an unmissable runway show, celebrating 30 years of Cruise.

Models will showcase some of the biggest names in fashion including Alexander McQueen, Yves Saint Laurent, Gucci, Mulberry, Chanel Vintage and Vivienne Westwood to name but a few.

Scottish Style Awards Founder, Mary McGowne explained: “In every respect, the Scottish Style Awards 2011 in association with Moët & Chandon promises to be the most glamorous night of the year and we are very excited  to have Nick hosting our celebrations in magnificent Kelvingrove in Glasgow – Nick perfectly encapsulates the spirit of the Awards; stylish, cool and charmingly witty.

"We are also thrilled and honoured to be welcoming the biggest names in fashion as we celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Cruise. The show will be incredible and by far the most exciting fashion occasion Scotland will have witnessed in many years. And with many more details set to be revealed over the coming weeks, the style countdown to 29th October has commenced!”
