Kensington Palace becomes home sweet home for Kate and William

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have moved into their new marital home in Kensington Palace.

It’s been all go for Kate and Wills after getting married in April and touring Canada and the USA in June and July, but now they can finally settle into life as man and wife.

The high profile couple, who have become hugely popular with the public following their April 29 wedding, have moved into a “modest” apartment in the royal residence.

However the apartment needed a few alterations and improvements, and builders who were drafted in to carry out the jobs noticed the place was full of asbestos and outdated wiring, the Daily Mail reports.

The couple's new home is where William once lived with his late mother Princess Diana, so it’ll be full of happy memories for the prince.

And it seems they could hardly wait to get moved in, with Kate and Wills spending a couple of nights at their new home last week.

Aides have said that the royal couple will only be staying in their new place for a short time as it is too small for long-term use - including bringing up a family, which they will no doubt want to consider in the near future.

The couple will be splitting their time between their new London residence and their rented cottage in Anglesey, Wales, where William works as a search and rescue pilot for the RAF.
