Pippa Middleton is clearly as much of a fashion icon as big sister Kate, after the dress she wore to Wimbledon sold out in a day.

Pippa, 27, sported a bright red shift dress from Hobbs which she teamed up with tan espadrille wedges, sunglasses and a Modalu bag, for her appearance at the tennis yesterday.

Social networking site Twitter was flooded yesterday with comments from fans and celebrities talking about the summery dress, which originally cost £129 but was reduced to £89 in the sales.

Dannii Minogue tweeted: “Whoop #WeLove Pippa Middleton's red dress @Wimbledon today.Tres chic!”

The official Wimbledon Twitter page also posted a message that read: “Pippa Middleton is here and wearing a fab red dress. Tweet us a pic if you spot her?”

And it seems that fashion lovers were as big a fan of the dress as Pippa was, who also wore it the day before Wimbledon for a shopping trip in London.

Pippa also turned heads yesterday for turning up on the arm of her boyfriend Alex Loudon, 30, who she had reportedly split from. The loved-up couple looked relaxed and comfortable in each other's company despite the rumours.

Earlier in the week elder sister Kate, who is the Duchess of Cambridge, attended Wimbledon on Monday alongside Prince William.

The cream tiered, scalloped Temperley's Moriah dress, which was £795 reduced to £395, also sold out. Various other outfits the 29-year-old has worn in the past have also been snapped up by fans.
