Mike Tindall will not be going under the knife to have his nose straightened before his wedding to royal Zara Phillips, according to the tailor making his wedding suit.

Earlier in the year it emerged that the Princess Royal, Princess Anne had suggested the rugby player might like to have his nose straightened in time for the nuptials on July 30.

But Mike, who is the captain of the England rugby team, already had corrective nose surgery earlier in his career and is understood to be in no hurry to repeat the procedure.

Tailor James Sleater of Cad & Dandy - which is making Mike’s morning suit from black barathea cloth from Huddersfield for the big day - said that the groom was “definitely” not scheduled to go for a nose job before his wedding.

“There is definitely no work going on before the wedding. Everyone is aware that things can snap, so why fix something that might break again? It is a war wound to be proud of,” he told The Telegraph.

However despite refusing to go for surgery on his nose, the tailor revealed that Mike is under the thumb in other ways.

“Behind every man there is a story of a powerful woman. Zara has been involved and helped select the clothes,” Sleater said.

“I don’t wear the trousers in my relationship and I am man enough to admit it. His relationship is the same as everyone else’s in that respect. We followed certain traditions, such as the bride’s mother gets first choice on what she wears, so nothing clashes.”

Meanwhile it has emerged that Prince Harry’s on-off girlfriend Chelsy will not be attending the wedding in Edinburgh after he failed to eceive a “plus one” on his invitation.

The couple are believed to be spending some time apart just now, and bride-to-be Zara is said to be keen to play matchmaker and set up her younger cousin at her wedding.
