D&G supermodel David Gandy eyes up Scottish talent

Dolce & Gabbana supermodel David Gandy was one of the top names at last night’s Scottish Fashion Awards in Glasgow, so it was essential to get the star’s thoughts on Scottish style.

Speaking to stv.tv’s Gill Harvey on the red carpet, David - who admitted he had admired some of the beautiful ladies who  turned out for the event - said that style in the UK is starting to catch up with the more forward-thinking European market.

“I think style is getting better all over the UK, culturally we’re a wee bit behind the Europeans and stuff like that.

”But I think it’s all gradually getting better and better, and literally more lavish and bigger than last year, so It’s improving I think,” he said.

The supermodel was back in Glasgow after appearing at last year’s Scottish Fashion Awards and joked that “it’s the weather” that attracts him to the city.

But David, who is currently dating The Saturdays singer Mollie King, revealed to stv.tv that he wouldn’t make it along to his partner’s gig at Bauer Radio’s In Demand concert this Saturday, as he has a prior engagement.

“I’m not [going to make it], I’m launching my own book on Saturday in Milan with the Dolce & Gabbana boys, so she’s [Mollie] here and I’m over there; that’s kind of how our relationship is going at the moment, we’re missing each other,” he said.
