Emma Bunton and Jade Jones have welcomed the birth of their second son Tate, and announced that both mum and baby are doing well.

The couple, who already have a three-year-old son Beau, made the Twitter announcement on Friday (May 6).

The Spice Girl said: “Our beautiful son Tate has arrived safe and sound! We are all so happy and excited. Thanks and love to you all. Xx”

The 35-year-old, who announced her pregnancy in November last year, is the first of the three pregnant Spice Girls to give birth – with Victoria Beckham and Mel B still expecting.

Emma and Jade have been together for 11 years and revealed the sex of their baby in February so have had plenty of time to think of a name for the latest edition to their family however, bandmate Victoria Beckham is still said be pondering over baby names as she awaits the birth of her first girl.

Jade proposed to Baby Spice in January of this year. The delighted popstar wasted no time in showing off her sparkly new ring as she announced the news live on Dancing on Ice where she was working as a judge.
