Having a laugh: Lily has claimed her earlier comments were simply a joke

Outspoken singer Lily Allen has denied comments she made earlier today about being “outraged” that she’s been left off the guest list for the Royal Wedding, while stars such as Joss Stone, David and Victoria Beckham and Rowan Atkinson made the cut.

The Smile star earlier posted a message on Twitter saying: “Well, you can quote me as 'outraged', why does b****y Joss Stone get an invite and not moi? I sang at the Diana concert too!”

Stories soon circulate thick and fast about the performer’s anger at being apparently snubbed from the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton on April 29.

But Lily has now taken to the social networking site once again to clear up the misunderstanding – and explain that she was simply having a joke with her followers.

“It was pretty obvious that I was being sarcastic about not being invited to the royal wedding, right?”

The singer then sarcastically added: “I'm just worried that Clarence House will now be trying to shuffle things round when they must have so much on their plates.

Better get that hat ready just in case anyway, Lily!
