As April 29 fast approaches, last minute preparations for the Royal Wedding are under way.

With the eyes of the world set to be upon her, Kate Middleton’s ‘look’ on the day will be scrutinised in fashion magazines, tabloids and TV for weeks, months and years to come – so it is vital she looks her best.

The details of the dress are being kept under wraps and much has been made about how she is going to wear her now infamous, glossy, locks, but what about her make-up?

Kate may be a natural beauty who shuns heavy make-up but subtle touches can help give a fresh, polished look that will keep her glowing throughout the celebrations.

Make-up artists to the stars, Sara Hill, explained: “Kate is always very natural and I don’t think she’ll do something particularly different on the big day.”

With a few simple steps, you too can achieve a light, flawless finish perfect for a princess!

A ROYAL BLUSH!

Step one: apply primer which will allow your make-up to last throughout the day and stop the foundation sinking into the pores.

Step two: use a foundation that matches your skin tone – Kate would never want to look orange ala The Only Way is Essex!

Step three: Use a concealer to cover up any little blemishes / red areas around the nose.

Step four: Apply a secret brightening powder which gives soft a reflection and keeps make-up set throughout the day.

Step five: Kate has perfect eyebrows – get a brush and get grooming!

Step six: Take a cake eyeliner that you mix with water and use a flat, thin brush and press liner under the lashes as well on top. This will make them look thicker and fuller.

Step seven: Use a soft, gold eye-shadow to bring out colour of your eyes.

Step eight: Brush a softer, dark, teal eye-shadow along the lashline to emphasis and pull eyes forward. Sara notes that Kate has quite deep set eyes so she is unlikely to go for a heavy make-up along the crease.

Step nine: Apply your mascara to top and bottom lashes.

Step ten: Add a little bronzer and blush to achieve that blushing bride look.

Step eleven: The all important lips for that “you may kiss the bride moment!”
Apply a nude gloss then mix in a small amount of red gloss and apply to the middle of the lips to make them look thicker and fuller.

Our model, Katie McNicol, looks stunningly elegant; as we’re sure Kate will do at the wedding of the year. Make-up bags at the ready!
