It’s Valentine’s Day, and if you still haven’t bought a special gift for your loved one, fear not. The Hour’s Colin Kelly has a selection of romantic gadgets to inject some magic into your relationship.
First up is Glovers for Lovers, £19.99 from thepresentfinder.co.uk. It’s much more fun to be able to hold hands during the winter, and the Glovers set contains one big glove for you and your other half to share and one glove each for your other hands. Perfect for a romantic stroll in the cold. Stephen wasn’t too impressed and rated the Glovers a measly one out of five.
Next up was the Sound Splitter from lovehearts.co.uk. The device allows you to plug in two headphone jacks so that you and your loved one can listen to the same music or watch a personal DVD player. Perfect for the couple who travel, and at £7.99, it’s a bargain. Michelle wasn’t keen on the idea and gave the Sound Splitter a rating of two out of five.
- THE PERFECT LOOK: In a survey carried out by Optical Express, Colin’s outfit was found to be the ideal first date look for British men. He was wearing a grey shirt, £40, and a £120 suit jacket, both from Studio by Jeff Banks. The look was finished off with black slim fit jeans for £26.50 at Red Herring and an £85 pair of Jasper Conran Bugsy centre seam loafers.
The Double Slanket is a gigantic fleece blanket with four arm holes so that you can snuggle up on the sofa with your loved one for extra cosy warmth. It’s perfect for a couple’s night in front of the TV and costs £24.99 from find-me-a-gift.com. Michelle loved this and gave it an impressive five out of five.
The Smart Control, £43 from oneforall.com, is a one for all remote that can control up to six devices. You wouldn’t even have to get up from the couch to flick between devices, and it would stop arguments between you and your other half. This was by far Stephen’s favourite, and he rated it four out of five.
Last on Colin’s list of romantic gadgets was the Little Black Book for iPhone for £39.99 from firebox.com. The faux-pas leather case, handmade using traditional book-binding techniques, looks just like a vintage phone book and will protect your precious iPhone from bumps and scrapes, and will mark you out as an old-fashioned romantic. Michelle rated it a top mark of four out of five.
