Former Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan is to appear in a new British film as a bullying victim.
Flanagan, who appeared as Rosie Webster in over 900 episodes of the Weatherfield soap, will play the role in the forthcoming movie Bitch, reported a tabloid newspaper.
The Daily Star quoted the 22-year-old actress as saying: "It's really gritty and it's terrible actually because it's based on a true story.
"It's tragic. The girls who did it are in prison now."
Following her departure from Coronation Street, Helen appeared on the reality TV show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, on which she failed to take part in a number of bushtucker trials and was voted out in seventh place.
Flanagan has admitted to being a victim of bullying herself in the past and has spoken out about her battles with depression during her time on Corrie.
She also hit out recently at those who portray her as a “bimbo” in the media, saying just last month: "People want to make me out as this brainless airhead with big boobs. It really grates and hurts so much. I absolutely hate it.”
As well as Bitch, Flanagan is understood to be involved in two other productions – The Other Side of Love and Fizzy Days – as well as short film The Runaway.
