Heather Peace is a woman of many talents. Not only has she been delighting fans with her heartfelt performance as Detective Sergeant Sam Murray in hit lesbian drama Lip Service, she is also an extremely talented musician who was once signed to Simon Cowell’s label.
At 21, Heather decided to focus more on acting, but continued to indulge her passion for music by performing at intimate venues, including her local in Brighton.
Now 34, she decided it was time to embark on a mini-tour playing small venues across the country - she never expected the response that ensued.
With interest heightened by her Lip Service role, tickets quickly sold out and Heather said: “I’ve got people going mad on twitter not being able to get tickets.”
Indeed, she has just completed two Glasgow dates at Sloans bar in the city centre and eager fans spent the past week calling the venue in the desperate hope that more tickets would be released.
For those lucky enough to get along to the performance, Heather’s unique voice did not disappoint.
Likening her style to a combination of Eva Cassidy and Sheryl Crow, stv.tv recorded her singing a track she wrote a few years ago and the team were blown away by the beauty and vulnerability of her voice.
Heather explained: “For these gigs, I’m doing a heck of a lot of stuff that is covers and Ill do a few of my own but the plan is to start introducing my own stuff a bit more and a bit more whilst interweaving it with stuff people know.”
For those of you not lucky enough to get a ticket for Heather’s show, you can enjoy her performance above. Judging by the interest and talent that clearly shines, we don’t think it will be too long till she’s back, packing out much larger venues.
