Shining star: Susan has recorded Perfect Day for the new album
Susan Boyle has recorded Perfect Day as the lead single on her new album – despite previous claims that she was denied permission to sing the song on America’s Got Talent.
The Scottish star was apparently left upset after being told she wasn’t allowed to perform Lou Reed’s moving hit on the TV show.
However, any issues seem to have now been resolved, with Susan choosing the song to launch her new album, The Gift, according to Billboard.
The Gift, which is released on November 8 in the USA and November 15 in the UK, has been described as a “seasonal collection” of holiday songs.
Hits including Do You Hear What I Hear, Hallelujah, O Holy Night and Away in A Manger, will feature on the LP.
The singer, who shot to fame after appearing in Britain’s Got Talent, said: “When making this album, I really wanted the songs to touch hearts. Music has always been a companion to me, particularly on special occasions.
"I wanted there to be a mix of songs that would flow with all our moods this holiday season. As much as the season is a time for reflection, it is also a time for fun and enjoyment with those closest to us."
Susan’s first album, I Dreamed A Dream, sold nine million copies worldwide, and The Gift expected to be a hit amongst her fans too – but only time will tell if it does as well.
