Cheryl Cole's new single is a coded love message to boyfriend Derek Hough, a report has claimed.
Pundits have claimed that `Promise This' contains lyrics which are a "clear tribute" to the Dancing With The Stars pro.
Cole apparently refers to Hough as her skylark, using the French term "Alouette", says the Daily Star.
Cheryl also uses the song to explain some of her feelings following the breakdown of her marriage to Ashley Cole.
The 27-year-old warbles: "In the beginning, there was nothing, so empty, in the space between."
"Then you came in, turned the lights on and created what has come to be."
Cheryl then hints at her relationship with Derek, who nursed her through her battle with malaria.
She sings: "Though I am walking through the shadows, you were with me and you comfort me.
"Promise this, if I die before I wake ... You'll be the last to kiss my lips."
