Magician-daredevil David Blaine is ready to shock – quite literally – as he returns to New York for a three-day, three-night stunt where he stands in the middle of a million volts of electric currents.
The show is called Electrified: One Million Volts Always On, and at a press conference Blaine demonstrated the stunt at a low voltage for the media.
The magician said he believes this is his grandest idea yet.
"I don't know how I could ever top this, no,” he explained. “This is an overly ambitious idea and I'm literally shocked that it came together.
“I don't know how...this is one of the craziest things that I ever dreamed up and I don't know how I could go beyond it but maybe in a couple years I'll figure something – but as of now this is it."
Safety is a bigger concern now that Blaine is a father. He has a 20-month old daughter to return home to.
The 39-year-old will wear a chain-mail bodysuit where the electric currents go through the suit, not his body. He'll also have on a wire helmet.
"I feel very confident that I'll pull this off and be perfectly fine at the end," Blaine said.
The stunt will be open to the public and steamed online at youtube.com/electrified.
