Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have shunned the likes of the Maldives and the Italian Lakes for a good old British summer holiday in the Lake District.
The Hollywood super couple, nicknamed Brangelina, are planning to take their six kids off to the stunning Cumbrian holiday destination for a short break.
The choice of spot was apparently influenced by the fact Angelina was due to shoot some of her scenes on upcoming movie Maleficient near to the Lake District.
And when the filming moved elsewhere, Ange and Brad still decided to push ahead with their planned holiday as they didn’t want their children to miss out.
A source told the Daily Mail: “Originally, the film was supposed to be shooting close to the Lakes, but relocated to a more convenient spot close to Pinewood studios.
“They’d already booked a few days off though, and they didn’t want the kids to miss out on their trip up to the Lakes, so they decided to go anyway.
“Brad has rented out an entire boathouse, and the couple have been looking up some local restaurants to dine at whilst there. They’re also planning a day of quad biking for the kids – and Brad.”
Popular with families, the Lake District boasts striking mountains and lakes and is the perfect place for Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox to run about freely and enjoy the wide range of activities on offer, from boating trips to cycling and rock climbing.
Brad and Angelina are tipped to marry in the next few weeks, so there will no doubt be the odd rumour circulating that the couple may be looking at the English holiday spot as a possible location for their nuptials.
More likely, however, is the south of France chateau they share near Aix-en-Provence, Chateau Miraval, which has been undergoing extensive refurbishment lately. The stunning home would provide a private yet luxurious place for the couple of seven years to exchange their vows in front of their nearest and dearest.
The pair confirmed their engagement earlier this year, with Angelina spotted sporting a massive diamond ring which Brad designed during a year-long collaboration with his bride-to-be’s private jeweller, Robert Procop.
