Lip Service star Heather Peace reveals she may swap acting for music

Heather Peace is one of the most talented women in showbiz but could she be about to step away from acting to concentrate on pursuing her flourishing musical career?

We caught up with gorgeous actress at the Lip Service Fan Event at Glasgow’s GFT and she revealed that she’s going to think long and hard about which direction to focus on in the coming months.

Fresh from completing a sell out UK tour, she said: “It was a dream come true.

“Singing with Alison Moyet on the last night was just like…”

Alison has long been a hero of Heather’s so when she agreed to perform Whispering Your Name with her on stage during her final gig on her sell-out Fairytales tour, it literally was the “cherry on top” for the star.

Heather said: “I’m writing at the moment while I’m filming, then we’ll make a decision some time in October / November whether to put the acting on the backburner and take the music forward.”

At the moment, Heather is loving her role as Nicki Boston in Waterloo Road and is enjoying living in Glasgow, where she feels she has been adopted as an honorary Scot.

Admitting she has started to pick up the Glaswegian dialect, she said: “I’m going “uhu” and my girlfriends like that “what is that?””

Lip Service fans are keeping everything crossed that a third series of the hit drama is commissioned and while music is clearly on Heather’s mind, she also insisted she would love to see the show return.

She revealed that she found it difficult to switch off from the dark storylines her character Sam was faced with in the last series, and drew on her own experience of panic attacks to get into the role.

Let’s hope Heather finds time to fit in music AND acting, as she is truly talented at both.
