X Factor winner Joe McElderry has described his debut album as “a bit of a shocker” and said that it will surprise fans of his music.
Speaking to stv.tv during his time in Glasgow for the girlie weekend Glam in the City, Joe revealed that he’s going for a completely new sound from his time on The X Factor.
“It’s all top secret, but I think it’s going to surprise people, I think there’s a few things that people might not expect,” Joe explained. “I’m very excited about it, so I just hope that everybody else is as well and hopefully they’ll all enjoy it.”
He added: “I don’t want to give too much away, but I think there’s going to be some different elements and it’s definitely going to be a bit of a shocker.”
GLASGOW GOES GLAM
Joe’s had a busy few months since winning The X Factor in December last year, mentored in the singing contest by none other than stunning fellow Geordie, Cheryl Cole.
Along with performing at events including Glam in the City and Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Joe has also been furiously working on material for his first solo album, which he plans to release in October.
He also has hopes for a big arena tour – and said that if it goes ahead, Glasgow will be one of the areas he will definitely be playing in.“Hopefully after the album I’ll get to tour and I’m just really excited about the next year ahead,” Joe said.
“Glasgow was one of the best crowds on the tour, so loud, and yes it’ll definitely be a port of call.”
