The World Cup is everywhere just now, but this weekend ladies can get a bit of a break from football fever with a special three-day-long fun-fest.
Glam in the City - which is being run by the Sun newspapear and PR and events company DADA - features a whole host of celebrities, fashion, food, cocktails, talks and exhibitions, and is being dubbed “three days and nights of pure indulgence”.
Oli Norman, the MD of DADA,explained a bit more about the event. He said: "“This weekend the ladies of Scotland are in for a treat. We have a celebrity packed weekend starting off this Friday with Lorraine Kelly who’s appearing on the main stage. She’s going to be followed by a whole raft of treats such as Zumba. Followed by Zumba we’ve got a whole host of acts such as Michelle Mone telling us her story, fashion styling – some of the best brands you’ll find on the high street - and then we’ve got Joe McElderry, the X Factor winner who’s going to be here doing a Q&A, and tonight he’ll be doing a performance.”
X Factor 2009 winner Joe McElderry told stv.tv that he couldn’t wait to get on stage and entertain the masses.“It’s lovely to be here…we kind of finished the tour (the X Factor tour) here so I have good memories of the last time I was here and the crowd here amazing so hopefully it will be the same tonight for the event,” he explained.
“I’m really, really looking forward to it, I don’t know what to expect yet, I don’t know what kind of audience it’s going to be or anything, but it should be fun. I’m really looking forward to it.”
On Saturday during the day fashion expert Gok Wan takes to the stage to give advice on the season’s hottest looks and in the evening the new Miss Scotland will be crowned.
Glam finishes on Sunday, with Clyde 1 DJs hosting the final day which features more beauty and fashion advice, Take That tribute band Take That 2 and the Glam Wrap Party.
