A road sign that smells of black pepper and charcoal has been developed in the US.
An advert in North Carolina for the Bloom grocery chain is using the sign to promote a new range of beef available in its stores.
Road users will be able to smell the barbecue scent - created by blowing air over cartridges of fragranced oil - for six hours a day in the early morning and late afternoon until June 18.
Harald Vogt, founder of the scent marketing institute, said: "It will definitely catch your attention, because we have to breathe."
