Naomi Campbell unveils Louis Vuitton World Cup trophy case

Footballers love their designer labels so it seems only fitting that the trophy for the most prestigious football competition in the world is suitably blinged up for the occasion.

Glamorous model Naomi Campbell flew in to Paris to unveil the new Official FIFA World Cup trophy case, which has been designed by Louis Vuitton.

Just like all good A-listers, the trophy will travel in style to South Africa. It will be protected by a leather-bound case that features gold-coloured clasps and the famed LV logo.

Since 1930, the World Cup trophy has been transported in an armoured metal case, but French fashion house Louis Vuitton has changed all of that.

LV spokesman Antoine Arnault said: "There was no reason why security couldn't be synonymous with elegance" (Possibly one of our favourite quotes of the year so far).

Soccer governing body FIFA ordered the lavish case in March and has also placed an order for a similar design for the 2014 World Cup.
