A British man who is the world's oldest football coach has retired after 70 years.

Ivor Powell - who has trained over 9,000 players in his lifetime - has finally retired from coaching players at the University of Bath at the age of 93.

Ivor - who was one of the finest players of his generation before turning to coaching - admitted he would continue to attend training sessions once day a week on a voluntary basis because football is "in his blood".

He said: "I've made so many close friends over the years. I just can't get enough and can't imagine my life without football... I'll still be putting on my boots to keep an eye on things.''
