A Caribbean man living in a shack has refused to sell his land for $60 million.

Claudius Lousien - who gets by without electricity or water and sleeps on an old sunbed lounger which used to belong to a five-star hotel - adores his home so much, he turned down a property developer who offered him the enormous amount of money for his land.

The 70-year-old man's humble home is set on 55 acres on top of a hill in Anst La Voute, St Lucia, and boasts amazing views and an abundance of wildlife.

Claudius declined the huge financial offer because his family has always lived there.

He said: "This is a nice place, cool and quiet, with all these beautiful trees. I want to be buried here."
