Kylie: raking in the big bucks
Australian Pop star Kylie Minogue is raking more than £11,000 a day, her accounts have shown.
According to accounts lodged at Companies House, the Spinning Around singer, who is the sister of X Factor judge Dannii Minogue, earned £4.1million in the last financial year.
The Mail on Sunday has reported that her 2008-2009 world tour pulled in a whopping £2.8million, with the rest of the cash coming from a mixture of royalties and record sales. She is also believed to have earned a large sum after appearing at the opening of the Atlantis, at the Palm hotel resort in Dubai.
The figures are particularly impressive considering the fact that 41-year-old Minogue has been on the music scene for more than 20 years, proving she is still as popular as ever.
A financial expert told the paper: “They are very healthy figures for any business, but for a singer who has been around for quite a long time it is incredible to be still earning money at this level.
"There are few pop stars who can sustain themselves at the top for so long. This shows that Kylie Minogue is among that select band."
Kylie suffered from breast cancer in 2005, when she took some time away from performing, but the star overcame the illness and sprung back to full health. She is currently working on her new album, which is expected to be released later on this year.
