Simon Cowell's bride to be Mezhgan Hussainy wants to take the music mogul to war-torn Afghanistan. The American Idol make-up artist fled from the country with her family when she was 14-years-old.
The 41-year-old wants to help the women and children who have suffered at the hands of the Taliban.
She told the News of the World: "I want to get them back on their feet and start their path to a bright future."
Mezhgan has set up a non-profit organisation The Faraway Foundation to help rebuild hospitals and schools in the country.
She said: "I watched a video taken by a family friend and I was overcome with tears as I saw the poverty and children on the streets."
Describing her groom to be, she explained: "He is a piece of cake. His bark is much bigger than his bite.
"He is exactly the way you see him. He loves to have a good time.
"He likes to push contestants on his shows to make sure he gets exactly what he needs out of them.
"He's like that mean teacher in school - the one that pushed you harder, the one you didn't necessarily like at the time, but the one you actually learned the most from."
Hussainy and her family fled Afghanistan in 1983 after the Soviet invasion. They travelled for 10-days through the hills on foot into Pakistan.
She said: "We were so hungry and tired. We got shot at once."
