Dancing on Ice star Christopher Dean's wife has claimed that his obessession with the show is responsible for the breakdown of their marriage. Jill Trenary and Dean have been together for 16 years.
Last week, the couple who have two children, confirmed that their marriage was over. Jill filed for divorce a year ago when she became fed up with him never being at home.
Trenary told the News of the World that she was stunned by rumours that her estranged husband had been spending nights with Dancing on Ice judge Karen Barber.
She told the newspaper: "I wasn't aware he had a relationship with Mrs Barber - it's hurtful.
"I really don't have any information about her as it's not something Christopher and I have discussed.
"Let's just say I didn't and don't want to discuss it with him."
Trenary, who is a skating coach in the US, reveals that her marriage was destroyed when Dean would not give up his role on Dancing on Ice, which keeps him away from home for six months a year.
She said: "Dancing on Ice was really an amazing project for Chris - and I was very supportive.
"It started as a few months away, but we ended up apart six months of the year - and that just isn't do-able.
"The success of the show, with long, long separations over almost five years now, isn't conducive to a happy marriage. It was the breaking point."
Both Barber and Dean have denied that they are having an affair, with Barber insisting she is just helping an old friend through his marital break-up.
