Susan Boyle: can relax at home after youth is charged with theft Pic: Rex Features
Susan Boyle and her concerned family can breathe a sigh of relief as a teenager has been arrested following an alleged burglary at the singing star’s Blackburn home
A 16-year-old, who can not be named for legal reasons, has been charged in connection with the incident that took place on January 26. Police say he will now be reported to the Children's Panel.
At the time of the frightening break-in, Susan told STV News: "I'm not going anywhere. Nobody's pushing me out of my house.
"I think he got more of a scare than I did because he ran off."
Although Susan wants to retain the home she grew up in, it seems pressure from family and her management team to move to a more secure location, have finally paid off.
Ms Boyle is reportedly looking for a home in London after Simon Cowell advised she would be safer there.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "She has now agreed to move to a place in the city, where she'll stay when busy working. During promotion commitments, it is thought she will stay for weeks at a time.
"The flat will be cat-friendly, so she can take Pebbles too. To see her in a secure location will ease a lot of minds."
Susan's family recently spoke out about how they thought she needed round the clock care after a series of security alerts.
Her brother John said: "She needs 24-hour care. She needs to be looked after".
