This morning Mark Owen admitted cheating on his bride of four months. Fans are coming to terms with the news that the ‘nice’ one was really a rat.
Mark Owen was the quiet sweet member of the band, the one girls – and their mothers – wanted to mother.
Everyone smiled when he hooked up with gorgeous actress Emma Ferguson and had a couple of kids.
He was never seen falling out of nightclubs, more likely to be found at parent and toddler groups.
Now, it seems, he’s passed the last few years in a boozy haze where he “hated” himself for falling into bed with various fans.
How could we have got it so wrong?
The drunken fog must have lifted sufficiently, however, for him to organise several steamy sessions with long-term bit on the side Neva Hanley.
He was also sufficiently lucid to write cheques to the total of £12,000 to her – not blackmail you understand, just a wee gift.
Mark says he has actually managed to keep it in his pants since he tied the knot at that romantic ceremony in Cawdor last November.
He told The Sun: “I’m proud of that. I know hat sounds really stupid but on our wedding day, for me the ring is really important and I want to be true to my word.
“It was a big change for me to be able to do that. It was a big moment for me, my wedding day. On many levels it was a fresh start and that was how I was looking at it.”
I hope long-suffering Emma sees it that way.
