Tess Daly and husband Vernon Kay believe their marriage is "worth fighting for".

The 'Strictly Come Dancing' presenter was rocked by revelations that her TV host spouse had sent racy texts to five women behind her back but insists the couple are determined to get their relationship back on track.

Speaking on BBC TV show 'The One Show' last night (09.03.10), Tess said: "It's been tough as you can imagine, but I've taken some time out to think things through and at the end of the day we have had ten great years together, we've got two beautiful kids and we both think that's worth fighting for."

Tess - who has two daughters with 'Family Fortunes' host Vernon, Five-year-old Phoebe, and ten-month-old Amber - also said that the situation has been made harder by the public exposure of her husband's actions.

She added: "Dealing with it in private is difficult enough, but dealing with it in public is even harder.

"But at the end of the day I've had so much support from everyone that I meet, not just family and friends.

"That has really touched me actually - a lot. It's been amazing."

Vernon has confessed to failing his family, saying he was an "idiot" and vowing to curb his behaviour.

He said: "I'm so sorry. I've been an idiot and I've let my family down. I've been stupid and daft."

good luck to you both. But there is no need for your private life to be dis-honoured in this way. You are normal people the same as the rest of us, a private life is meant to be private and not open to public opinion
