Cheryl Cole has gone to Los Angeles for a short break, after her performance at The Brit Awards last night, raising suspicion that she is fleeing the public attention surrounding her personal life just now.
The Fight For This Love singer has had to endure more allegations about her husband, footballer Ashley Cole’s fidelity in recent days, after it was claimed he sent sex texts to two women, and slept with a blonde secretary in late 2008.
And poor Chezza – who had to deal with Ashley cheating on her with a hairdresser last year – was seen without her wedding ring, sparking rumours that this time she’s decided enough is enough.
However, her rep has said the singer’s latest trip abroad isn’t an attempt to avoid the public glare, but is in fact a pre-arranged visit to LA, to record some new songs.
The representative told The Daily Mail: "Cheryl Cole is going to America for writing and recording sessions. This is a session that was scheduled last month. She is away for a week. We have no further comment to make."
But it seems that all is not rosy, whether Cheryl is trying to get away from Ashley or not. She has reportedly asked friends and family to refer to her by her maiden name, Tweedy, rather than her married name of Cole, since the latest rumours emerged.
Fans of the singer could also be heard chanting ‘dump him, dump him’ at last night’s glitzy Brit Awards, and her supporters have also been spotted sporting 'Team Cheryl - Don't Fight For His Love' t-shirts, selling at £13 a pop.
