Heartbroken X Factor pop babe set to bring the curtain down on her marriage to England and Chelsea star Ashley Cole, according to reports
Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole wants a divorce from footie ace husband Ashley according to reports.
The singer put on a brave face at last night’s Brit Awards, where she performed hit single Fight For Your Love.
But according to a report in The Daily Star the fighting is now over for Cheryl who was not wearing her wedding last night and has told friends to “call me Cheryl Tweedy, not Cole.”
26 year-old Cheryl’s marriage to the footie ace is said to be in tatters over recent allegations that Ashley sent lurid sex texts to two women and had secret sex sessions with one of them, a 30 year-old blonde secretary.
It’s claimed the England and Chelsea star who is laid up with a broken ankle that could rule him out of this summer’s World Cup sneaked her into his hotel room before Chelsea away games to Hull and Birmingham.
Topless model Sonia Wild also claimed Ashley sent nude pictures of himself to her, but the £82,000 a week star has denied sending them saying he forgot to delete them from a pay as you go mobile he lent to a friend.
Insiders now say that Cheryl is at breaking point and that pressure is mounting on the star to cut the England and Chelsea star loose, with Cheryl’s mum, close friend and Girls Aloud band-mates all ready to back her decision.
If the Geordie Tinkerbell does press ahead with a divorce and show her husband the door she could be in line for a £22m settlement and is said to be considering consulting divorce specialist Fiona Shackleton, whose celebrity clients include Paul McCartney and Madonna.
A friend of Cheryl’s told the Daily Star: “He’s pushed her to the limit. She’ll never be able to forgive Ashley for his stupidity. She’s in bits and feels totally humiliated.
“It’s the hardest decision she’s ever made because she loves him but he keeps letting her down.
“The last few days she’s been keeping herself busy concentrating on her Brits performance. Now that’s over she’ll deal with him and sort out her future.”
Cheryl is now set to jet off with her mum Joan to consider her future after X Factor chief Simon Cowell, apparently no fan of Ashley, is said to have offered the Fight for Your Love star his Barbados villa as a refuge.
After finishing her Fight For Your Love routine at the Brits last night, Cheryl told the audience “Thank you, thank you” and some fans could be heard chanting “Dump him, Dump him,” apparently in reference to Ashley.
Earlier The Wire actor Idris Elba caused gasps among the celebrity packed crowd before presenting the Best Band award when he said: “Nobody can deny what British people do best- music and faithful footballers.”
After the performance Cheryl fell into the arms of her Girls Aloud bandmates Nicola Roberts and Kimberly Walsh.
Host Peter Kay said: "Fight for this love, never a truer word was spoken.” Now it looks like the fight could well be heading for the courts.
